This service is best for those that don't want to see a lot of the filler words common in everyday vernacular, such as lectures and meetings.

 

A clean copy of a transcript is one that is easy to read and looks professional in nature. Casual vernacular such as "Yup", "Yeah", "Uh-huh", "Nope", "Nuh-uh" are changed to "Yes" or "No" respectively. False starts such as "I guess...I guess so" are shortened to what is relevant. Filler words that are used to collect thoughts such as "Um", "Like", "I mean" are removed.

The audio is replayed multiple times to make sure the conversation is recorded properly, and editing is done for spelling. Background noise not relevant to the subject matter (such as banging pots, dogs barking, or children laughing during an interview at someone's home) are not recorded.

 

Any unclear audio is timestamped for review using the Comments feature in either Microsoft Word or Google Docs. Once everything has been cleaned up, a PDF version of the transcript is provided.

 

I do most research on my own to ensure correct spelling and proper information, but some cases (such as proper spelling of personal names) may need help from the owner of the file.
