Beta reading is the simplest service available. For those that only want a casual reader's opinion on their work, beta reading will cover the basics. 

 

Did something make me laugh, cringe, or frown in confusion? I’ll point out each of my initial reactions as comments in the margins of the manuscript. After I've finished reading, a two-page questionnaire is answered to give the author an idea of how their manuscript holds up to an average reader's expectations. 

 

The questionnaire includes comments on:

• Conflict believability

 

• Enjoyment of narrative 

 

 

A beta read is $2 per 1,000 words, and the word count is rounded to the nearest thousand.
